  1. I am a beginner, can I take the CPL course?

Yes you can. All of our instructors are dedicated to giving all the additional help on a per student basis as needed. We have had all types of students come to our classes from beginners all the way to advanced. We have done classes for special needs persons as well. So don’t feel nervous about being a “rookie” there is a lot of people that will be in the same boat. We feel confident that you will leave feeling more secure with a firearm along with the confidence to conceal and carry.

  1. Do I need to have shooting experience to attend your CPL Class?

No. We have taught many students with no experience how to shoot as well as the proper handling of a pistol.

  1. I’m concerned about using my credit card over the Internet to register for your class. Do I have other options?

We require you to register online for the class that you want to attend. You can either pay the balance in full which you will get the discounted price at checkout. You may pay by check or cash at the day of the class at our regular price. Our classes are normally full, in preparation for our classes we have cost that are paid in advance for materials, range time etc….that is why we encourage you to pay in advance. Our site is secure, it is tested on a regular basis. We use Paypal services for payments which is also secure.

  1. How old must I be to take the CPL Class?

21 years of age is the age needed to obtain your cpl permit. Although we allow 18-20 yo students to come take the class. Your certificate that you will receive is good for five years.

  1. Is there a dress code for your CPL class?

There is no dress code. However, you need to ensure that you are comfortable. If possible, wear jeans. No open toed shoes will be allowed on the range at any time.

  1. I don’t live in the same county where your class is being given. Is this O.K.?

Yes. The class that you will attend is through the USCCA.. As a USCCA Training Instructor, I am certified to teach this course all over the United States. This course meets the State of Michigan training requirements that you must meet in order to apply for your concealed pistol license (CPL).

  1. How do I apply for my CPL?

First you must take your completed application along with your course completion certificate to the County Clerks Office of the county in which you reside. There, you will submit your application and pay the application fee. There, your fingerprints will be taken and your background check will begin. Once MICHIGAN STATE POLICE receives the fingerprints they then will be forwarded to the FBI once cleared the county clerk will issue or deny the license within 45 days.

  1. How long will it take me to get my CPL?

Depending on the county in which you are applying. We have been seeing up to 6 weeks.

  1. What are Pistol-Free Zones?

Pistol-Free Zones are places where people with CPL licenses are not legally able to visit while armed with a pistol. See Pistol Free Areas.
